Why You Should Visit Belfast.

Belfast is a vibrant Northern Ireland city with historical landmarks and stunning scenery that attracts people from different parts of the world. Trouble time is gone for this city. Belfast is now rebuilding after 30 years of conflict between the Catholics that wanted to be enjoined with the Republic of Ireland and Protestants that wanted to continue their allegiance for the United Kingdom.

Here are some of the reasons to travel to Belfast:

The Titanic Visitor Centre

The Titanic building boasts of the rich ship building history. The Titanic was actually built in the docks of the city. Two Wolff and Harland cranes, called Goliath and Samson, dominate the skyline of this city. Nevertheless, the Titanic Building is the place to go if you want to learn about the ship. Additionally, Belfast museum received an award for being the Leading Tourist Attraction in Europe and another award for the Leading Tourist Attraction in the globe from the World Tourism Awards.

The Troubles Tour

When you travel to Belfast, you get an opportunity to go on a troubles tour. Taxi drivers can take you through the neighbourhoods that were racked by the violence that characterized this city some decades ago. During the tour, you can make stops at the Belfast murals that commemorate the major events of the struggle. The infamous fence known as the Peace Wall is a key highlight of the tour. This wall separates Protestants and Catholic neighbourhoods. It’s surprising that the gated openings on this wall are always locked at night. Nevertheless, this city has come a long way since the end of The Troubles in 1998.

Game of Thrones

If you are a fan of television shows, you already know about Game of Thrones. This television show was filmed at the Titanic Studios in Belfast. Many people travel to Belfast to visit the filming locations of this series near Belfast. Some of the recognizable sights from this show include glens, castles, and the ‘Dothraki Sea’. Majority of the locations for this film highlight the amazing Antrim Coast. This is among the best coastal drives globally. This coastal road hugs the Atlantic Ocean and the Irish Sea with thrilling views. These include the excellent view of Scotland that is 11 miles

away at the closest point. There is also the Veering inland. Colourful sheep dominate this scenery and they are splashed with amazing pastel colors. Generally, these are the major reasons to visit Belfast. Consider traveling to this destination if you are looking for your next vacation destination.
